Best practice of school renovation #3 – Risør Technical College

BRIEF INTRODUCTION OF THE PROJECT
The school is a Norwegian pilot project under the international research project TES EnergyFacade, which aims at developing a method for the energetic modernisation of the building envelope, based on woodframed prefabricated facade elements. Risør Technical College was retrofitted with new facades and improved roof insulation in the project period 01.01.2008 to 31.12.2010. The heat energy demand for the school building was reduced from 325 kWh/m2a to 49 kWh/m2a, a saving in energy use of 275 kWh/m2a.
