BRIEF INTRODUCTION OF THE PROJECT
The school was built in in 1978 and was renovated in 2011. The main energy related targets were the attainment of a nearly zero energy building (nZEB) and partially passive house standard after the renovation by using prefabricated timber façade elements for the renovation of the existing exterior wall, by removing the thermal bridges of the building as far as possible, by installing a centralized mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery and by using renewable energy sources for heating and domestic hot water preparation.
For this renovation the school has won the ZT.Award in 2009 (appreciation award for “energy optimized retrofit”).
